This week in Business and Economics

This week in the business and economics section of the paper, you see an article telling you about the highest paid sims 2 base game career that is athletics. What does this have to do with Business and Economics? It doesn't much does it, but it's a job possibility that you can get some serious money for.
In the future you will find OFB business stories. Enjoy this weeks addition!
Also, participate in the stock market! Sims Stock is a little different so be sure to view the "How the stocks work" article!

Guiding you through the Hall of Fame

The highest paying job in the base game of the Sims 2 is in the athletic field. Just starting out in this field on level one career, your sim earns just §154 a day. Thats a weekly average of §770 and thats without promotion bonuses and the new salary you get once promoted.
As a level 1, or Team Mascot, your sim has off on Mondays and Thursdays and needs absolutely no skills or friends. However, this doesn't mean you should let them slack off. Start building skills and relationships and you'll be there before you know it!
Now halfway into the carerr, level 5, your sim is an All Star! Requiring just 2 charisma skills and 2 friends, your sim makes §539, thats §2,695 a week! Your sim is now off Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but every other day they go to work from 9 to 3. It is at this point in their career  when your sim will get the Athletic career reward, the Exerto Punching Bag. This gains body skill points.
Finally there will come a day when you sims are at the 10th level of their career, a Hall of Famer! Somehow your sims will have to have earned 10 body skill points, 7 mechanical skill points, 10 charisma skill points, and 8 friends! They will work from 11-5 earning §3,033 a day! Coming to a total of §9,099 a week! Thats a lot of simoleans!
Getting your sim there is half the fun, spending the dough once they get there is the other half! So if you're looking for a lot of money in the long run, the Athletic career is for your sims!

How the stocks work:

In the WeAreSim forums, we will have a special section set up for these stocks. If you would like to participate and gamble with the stock market, just for friendly fun, you may sign up saying which stock you'd like to buy into. Here's how things will work:
Each stock will start off at 1.00 even. We will have a thread going each week on the forums where we ask you to name the career you've used in the sims most so far this week. We will let everyone state 5 careers from the list above that they use most this week. Yes this means you can say the career of stock you own.. however be honest when voting.
For every vote someone states they've used often this week, the stock for said career will increase .01 a slow rise if the career is rarely used by you simmers. **See below for more information on the rise of stocks.
Stocks can also go down, for every week that passes and a career has gotten only 2 votes, it decreases .02. For every week it gets only 1 or none, it decreases a whole .03! It's easier to decrease then to increase. Keep checking back too, there may be weeks where it decreases more or less!
Make sure your stock comes out on top by voting each week! Check back every issue to see what happens to your stock. Remember, even guests can reply to posts on the forums, so don't let not joining disuede you from being apart of this friendly game.
Have a better way of handling the way the stocks work? Tell Bologna!

To see if the stock went up or down, look for the sign next to it. This week the stocks all stayed the same because it's a new feature. If the stock goes up, it will have a > sign, if it goes down it will have a < sign.
> points to higher numbers (above the decimal) mathematically
< points to lower numbers (below the decimal) mathematically

Go sign up for a stock! If you are a guest to the forums you may sign up for 1 career's stock. If you are a member to the forums you may sign up for 3.
** Members who own 3 career stocks hold more power then guests who hold 1. Therefore, for every member that votes, the stock will increase .02 so you members need to vote as well! However, there may be a member who's stocks are way way down, that member won't hold as much power.
